About EUR to GEL
European clients pay in euros, and the lari moves against the euro differently than against the dollar. Here is today's official euro rate, its recent range and an estimate of what lands after a bank, an online transfer or USDC.
Which rate is shown here?
The official rate of the National Bank of Georgia, set once a working day. Banks and transfer services quote their own rate on top of it, which is where most of the cost of a payment hides.
Is a SEPA payment cheaper than a wire to Georgia?
Georgia is outside SEPA, so a euro payment from the EU arrives as an international transfer. An online transfer service with a local euro account is usually cheaper than a direct wire.
Why does EUR to GEL change when USD to GEL doesn't?
The lari is managed mostly against the dollar, so the euro rate follows EUR to USD on world markets.
